About

Bridges make a fantastic lunch spot

This a place for me to share my own view of the world. Somewhere for me to share the things I make. Somewhere to share the things I find interesting. Most of all, it’s an attempt for me to find the magic in both the exquisite and the mundane and to share it with you.

Who is Ehdom?

That’s me.

I’m a recent college grad with a degree in English. I’ve spent most of my life in Michigan (other than trips), and I’m ready to see what the rest of the world has to offer. I like being able to capture moments, whether it’s through writing, film, or photography.

In short, I’m infatuated with the world around me. I’m obsessed with moments, connections, expressions, emotions, stories, people—everything. I’m constantly searching for that moment of awe—the kind of moments that capture you. Sometimes it’s in a phone call, or in the way a shadow falls on the side of a building, or in a moment of unexpected synchronicity when everything seems to lead directly into the next thing. It’s everywhere as long as you look.

I’m sure most of us remember the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I’ve always hated it. Ever since the days of juice boxes and (required) naps, we’ve been told that we need to decide “what we want to be.” I’ve never wanted to be just one thing. I don’t think anyone has to. I’ve also encountered this with many of my peers. I always hear about what they’re doing, and what they want to be doing. The problem is that the two never seem to match.

“I’d like to be an artist, but I can’t make anything creative.”

“I’d like to write a book someday, but I can’t write.”

“I’d like to have more adventure, but I can’t find the time.”

Yes you can.

I don’t want to be one thing. I want to be an artist. A writer. A film maker. A traveler. A photographer. A collaborator. A teacher. A student. I want to live as many lives as I can during this one that I get. I’m doing that now.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned so far, it’s that there’s no reason to feel trapped in any one area. Find what you want want to do, and do it. I try to make something, anything, at least once a day: pictures, movies. writing, anything. We have to keep on making things.

I’d like to encourage you to do the same. Tell me about it. Send me an email and we’ll talk. Show me things you’ve made, things you’re planning on making, or like I mentioned earlier, email me just tell me how the weather is. Admit it, you know you’re pretty awesome, right? I’d love to be able to talk to you a bit. People absolutely fascinate me.

Everyone has a story.

I also enjoy the small details that make all of us who we are. I love when pay phones ring but no one is around. I love that feeling after waking up naturally when you’re on the whimsical boundary between being awake and asleep. The smell of old books. I could go on forever, but we’ll save that for when we talk.

Tell me your story. I want to know what moves you, what angers you, what inspires passion into your life. Or just drop an email to say “Hey.”

Either way, let’s talk.
